Title: Infant language stimulation mediated by parent-directed digital apps

Abstract

Infant stimulation is fundamental to favor different skills during the development of children. Currently, there is little literature on language stimulation programs aimed at parents, who play an important role in their children’s development. This review identified the most recent findings of the literature on language stimulation applications directed to parents of typically developing children and children with language disorders. A documentary search of research was conducted considering the selection criteria proposed by the researchers through different databases and twelve research studies in English, Spanish and Portuguese were included in the review. Among the findings of the review, it is highlighted that all the applications sought to teach skills and stimulation strategies to parents to favor favorable development environments for their children. All the studies employed similar stimulation strategies and all the applications were reported by the authors as efficient and positively valued by the participants of the studies. However, it was found that there is a low number of published research, therefore, the findings of this review reflect the need to propose and design technological tools that are oriented to the training of Spanish-speaking parents to improve the accompaniment of child language development processes
