Biography

Manish Gupta is presently working as Professor and Head, Department of Otorhinolaryngology and Head & Neck Surgery at Dr. B. R. Ambedkar State Institute of Medical Sciences, Mohali, Punjab. He completed his M.B.B.S. from the University College of Medical Sciences & Guru Tegh Bahadur Hospital, Delhi University, and his M.S. (ENT) from Safdarjung Hospital, Delhi University, in April 2002. He subsequently completed his Senior Residency at Safdarjung Hospital and began his academic career as a faculty member in the Department of ENT at GSMCH, Patiala, and MMIMSR, Ambala. He also worked as a Specialist in the UAE and was awarded FIMSA (Fellow of the International Medical Science Academy) in 2015.


With over 26 years of ENT practice, he has performed a wide range of routine and advanced ENT surgeries, with special expertise in endoscopic and open nasal surgery, anterior skull base surgery, and head and neck tumors. He has served as an Examiner for MBBS and MS examinations across various universities. He has 116 publications in reputed national and international journals and has delivered numerous research presentations and invited talks at conferences. He has also served as resource faculty in multiple workshops and has received the “Best Paper Award” on three occasions.


He is a life member of several national and international professional bodies, including IMA, AOI, AIRS, ISO, FHNO, IMSA, and APSTS. He serves as a member of the editorial board and reviewer for 21 journals and is Editor-in-Chief of two journals. He has published an educational DVD titled “ENT – Made Simple,” widely used by undergraduate and postgraduate students during practical examinations, and has contributed a chapter to the book “Essentials of Rhinology.”


Committed to surgical education, he has uploaded 73 surgical videos on YouTube to aid training of budding ENT surgeons worldwide. He has also organized several Continuing Medical Education (CME) programs, including Thyroid Update, Temporal Bone Dissection Workshops, Hands-on FESS Workshops, ENT–Head & Neck Radiology programs, HAOICON 2018, PAOICON 2025, and a CME on Cochlear Implants.
