Retropharyngeal Abcess In Adult
Abstract
Retropharyngeal abscess (RPA) in adults is a rare but potentially life-threatening deep neck space infection. Early diagnosis and prompt management are essential to prevent severe complications. Otorhinolaryngologists play a key role in the diagnosis and treatment of this condition. Accurate clinical assessment combined with imaging plays a crucial role in management. Treatment consists of intravenous broad-spectrum antibiotics and surgical drainage when indicated. With timely and appropriate management, outcomes are generally favorable.
