Abstract
Children with pediatric feeding disorders (PFD) may manifest symptoms at all times during feeding. This clinical entity can present itself in different grades and forms. The population of children with complex chronic conditions (CCC) require an interdisciplinary care team. The aim of this presentation is to define and to introduce the role of a speech and language patogist in an interdisciplinary team with this population. In Latin América is little by little grown not only in a clinical way also in the field of research . Children with PDF and CCC often present feeding challenges as the use of feeding tubes and tracheostomies is added. The team should specialize in the aim to go along with families going through these challenges of learning to eat.
Biography
Dalma Gonzalez is a speech and language pathologist from Argentina. She is also breastfeeding consultant. She has completed his PHD at the age of 32 years. She is SLP in a pediatric hospital of the City, Hospital Garrahan. She is professor at the Museo Social Argentino University. Her work is based on the family centerd care, she attends babies and children with pediatric feeding disorders, including swallowing disorders. She works in a terciary center care hospital.
