Modified Alianza Technique for Obstructive Sleep apnea.
Abstract
Modified Alianza Technique for Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) This presentation explores a novel surgical approach, the Modified Alianza Technique, for the treatment of OSA. The technique involves a modification from Alianza Barb snore surgery where the Palatopharyngeous muscle is divided and then sutured so as to give more lateral and Anterior expansion of the retropalatal space. Results from 50 patients demonstrated positive outcomes in reduced apnea-hypopnea index (AHI), and Snoring. The Modified Alianza Technique offers a promising alternative to traditional surgical and non-surgical treatments for OSA, providing effective relief from symptoms and improving overall quality of life.
Biography
Dr.DumpalaVidyasagar is working as a senior Consultant at Apollo Hospital Hyderabad, India with special interest in Snoring and sleep apnea surgeries. He is also a Life member and the present Treasurer in IASSA(Indian association of Surgeons for sleep apnea).He is also serving as an editotial board member for a newsletter in IASSA.
