Title: A case of acute cervical epidural infection caused by fishbone in pyriform fossa

Abstract

Hypopharyngeal foreign body is a common disease in otolaryngology, and there are few clinical reports of acute cervical epidural infection caused by foreign bodies in this area. This patient developed contralateral neck pain, limited mobility, and persistent high fever infection symptoms one week after the foreign body was removed. Enhanced CT and MRI examinations of the neck confirmed the location and rare cause of the infection. After active anti infection treatment, the patient recovered. Follow up after treatment showed that the patient is in good condition.
