Endolymphatic hydrops (ELH) known as the main pathophysiology of Menière’s disease (MD). ELH recurs periodically without any specific rhythm. Therefore, the patient may be in attack-phase (acute) or inter-attack phase (chronic). However, some of MD patients referred to us has a debilitating floating sensation or imbalance. In my experience, caloric irrigation can dramatically decrease such complaints. I want to report three unilateral and chronic MD patients with floating sensation treated unexpectedly with caloric stimulation in one session. They did not report any relapse of such sensations within the next 3 months. Does the caloric stimulation relieve ELH transiently or have a more central effect? Based on literature, I want to discuss these results.
